Austin-based recruiting platform company Indeed, a job search company, has announced the elimination of 2,200 jobs. This move places the company among other major tech industry players that have implemented significant staff reductions. According to CEO Chris Hyams in a letter, approximately 15% of Indeed’s entire workforce has been impacted. The cuts affected almost every team, function, and level across all Indeed locations.

Hyams explained that the decision regarding who and where to reduce was challenging but made with great care. The company aimed to prepare for the future, align with strategy and priorities, and minimize redundancy and inefficiency. To ensure impartiality and fairness, the HR, Legal, and DEIB+ teams collaborated closely during the process.

The company communicated with all employees via mass emails titled “Your Position Has Been Impacted” or “Your Position Has Not Been Impacted.” Staff members in locations outside the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Japan have already been informed of their status, but those in those countries will have to wait due to regional regulations.
