It’s a difficult day for 68 “Xing” employees: As MOPO found out, their notice of termination should have been sent to them on Tuesday morning. When asked, the company confirms: 46 employees from Hamburg are affected, and the other 22 jobs are spread across other locations such as Valencia, Porto, or Barcelona. The terminations would affect all possible job areas, from software developers to marketing employees.
“Our seven-strong Zurich office will be completely dissolved and customers will be served from Munich and Austria in the future,” says Petra von Strombeck, CEO of the New Work SE group, to which “Xing” also belongs. “We’ve only grown over the years. Unfortunately, we cannot use the employees elsewhere at the moment.” The employees are said to have been informed in individual discussions. “We assure them of a re-employment preference if suitable jobs are available again,” says von Strombeck.
