OhioHealth, the Columbus-based health care provider is laying off 637 Employees – the highest number of layoffs by the organization so far.
The organization announced the layoffs to the impacted employees on Thursday. Most of the impacted belong to the IT department making this more of a Tech layoff, 567 out of the 637 impacted roles are from the IT department – Product, Billing & Accounts.
The majority of the laid-off roles are from the Greater Columbus area.
“Healthcare is transforming, and we need to constantly look for the best ways to invest in technology and processes that allow us to best serve our customers. As the expectations of our customers change, we must also change,” OhioHealth said in an email to staff as reported by The Columbus Dispatch.
